Brad Bishop

A lifelong creative with a passion for drawing, nerd culture, and sports, Brad Bishop brings a palpable energy to every project. “Plain and simple, I just love what I do,” Bishop said. “Each morning, I’m excited to get to work. Being creative and getting to apply my creativity in my work is such a blessing. I can’t believe I get to design and work with clients every day.”

After graduating from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M-Commerce) with a bachelor’s degree in Design Communication and minors in illustration and journalism, Bishop spent the first decade of his design career working for clients like ESPN, AT&T, Office Depot, Labatt, Kraft Foods, Miller Beer, and Frito-Lay.” In 2005, Bishop and his creative partner Mike Thurman opened the doors to their own design firm, Torch Creative. Bishop and Thurman’s work has been featured at some of the largest professional sporting events in the country as well as some of the nation’s top-division universities. “Mike and I love working with clients to create logos and designs that make them excited,” Bishop said. “Together, we challenge each other and evolve each other’s ideas.”

Bishop lives just outside of Dallas in Flower Mound, Texas, with his wife Lesa and daughter Michaela.

Michael Thurman

A classically trained illustrator and graphic designer, Michael designs logos and brand identity systems that inspire. “I’m intensely competitive. I love to win, and I love when our clients win. So I will always work with clients until they feel they have something to take them to the next level.”

After graduating from Texas Tech University, Mike spent the first ten years of his career working at three large, Dallas-based creative agencies. He has worked with clients like ESPN, AT&T, Office Depot, Labatt, Quaker Foods, Miller Beer, and Frito-Lay. In 2005, he and Brad opened the doors to Torch. Since then, the two have worked closely with such clients as the National Hockey League, the NBA, Minor League Baseball, the Goodyear Cotton Bowl, Texas A&M, LSU, the Dallas Stars, Michigan State University, and Disney. “Brad and I apply our years of training and experience in designing logos that represent our client’s values and goals,” Thurman said, “We love working together to produce results with staying power, so we try to remain grounded in a classic aesthetic. We avoid trends and fads, and as a result, we hope every identity we create will be around for a very long time.”

Michael lives in Grapevine, TX with his wife, Shari, and his son, Brandon.
